I told you over a year ago that this would happen. I’m still not sure how good an idea this is. Really, how much plot can you squeeze into these episodes to give them all something good to do?
With the exception of The Doctor’s Daughter, I’ve really enjoyed Season 4 so far. For me, it’s been the most consistently strong season since the first one. These last two episodes are the ones that worry me. They sound like an overcrowded CG fest with an opportunity for RTD to have a last Hurrah with his gang. Nothing wrong with that as such, but squeezing Davros and the Daleks in as well? I have a nasty feeling this is going to be a LotTL style-over-substance mess.
I really hope not but we’ll see…

Wow, that gives whole new meaning to the term “crowded TARDIS”.
I’m remaining Cautiously Optimistic, personally. I actually enjoyed LotTL (there’s a lot to be said about Martha Jones saving the world using little more than words as weapons, regardless of what you think of the Doctor’s rejuvenation at the climax of the episode) and I’ll be interested to see how they manage to make it all work. RTD’s scripts this season have been alarmingly good.
Hi Ben, nice to see a new face on here
I’m cautiously optimistic too. As I said, I have really enjoyed Season 4 and I truly hope RTD can pull it out of the bag. I just can’t see how all those characters will get anything decent to do. Bear in mind it’s not just the eight in this picture. There’s Sylvia and Wilf, Harriet Jones, Sarah’s boy, Gwen and Ianto, Michael Brandon’s military character and I’ve also heard that Martha’s mum is in it as well – that makes 16!
The new trailer (posted on the Facebook group) gives me hope for Davros though.
To be honest, it wasn’t just the Doctor’s rejuvenation that put me off LotTL. I won’t go through it all again as if you listen to the podcast you’ll know already!
