The actor Peter Copley, who played the role of Dr Warlock in the highly-regarded 1975 Doctor Who serial “Pyramids of Mars”, has died at the age of 93. In an irony not lost on those of us here at c2, he also appeared in episode 2 of Survivors, playing the lone teacher left alive at Peter’s school, which we covered only recently on the show.
His impressive career, which started in 1934 with Tell Me If It Hurts and ended in 2008 with Sky’s The Colour of Magic included appearances in many genre favourites (Danger Man, The Saint, Quatermass and the Pit, The Avengers, The Troubleshooters, The Champions, Department S, Doomwatch, Arthur of the Britons, The New Avengers, The Famous Five, Into the Labyrinth, Jonathan Creek and Strange, amongst many other well-known shows) and can be seen in full here and an obituary has been published by The Daily Telegraph.
