No, we’re not talking about the ratings for Robin Hood or Primeval. I’m not even talking about the quality of RTDs Doctor Who scripts (they’re more of a see-saw really).
We’re actually talking about the 1966 sci-fi drama serial originally broadcast on the BBC Light Programme. Long absent from the BBC archives, The Slide, written by future Doctor Who writer Victor Pemberton, features Roger Delgado, who went on, of course, to play The Master, Maurice Denham (who played Azmael in The Twin Dilemma), David Spenser and Miriam Margolyes (who has recently appeared in the 8th Doctor drama from Big Finish, The Beast of Orlok).
It’s part of BBC Audiobooks ongoing series of Classic Sci-Fi CD releases and it shares many similarities with Pemberton’s Troughton adventure, Fury From The Deep.
As usual you can get the show from iTunes or download it by clicking here.
